One of the biggest issues people face when they get into affiliate marketing is how to generate traffic. This article is going to show you the strategy I use to get article marketing traffic.
If you implement this strategy, you will find that you can build a steady and constant stream of article marketing traffic.
Step 1: Pick your keywords carefully
The foundation of your article marketing traffic strategy is to pick your keyword carefully. I will only use keywords that have less than 5000 competitors in Google. This means that I have to spend more time in my keyword research to find long tail keywords (keywords with 3 or more words in them) that are meaningful.
However, if you don’t get your keyword research right, you will not generate any article marketing traffic from search engine rankings, which means you are missing a large chunk of the traffic potential of your articles.
I also try to find at least 5 – 10 keywords that I can base my articles on
Step 2: Create a relevant landing page
The purpose of the article marketing traffic strategy is to generate traffic and help to increase your search engine rankings. In order for this to work effectively, you need to create a landing page that is relevant to your articles you are going to write.
Again, if you don’t do this step you are not going to get the full potential from your article marketing traffic strategy.
Step 3: Write at least 1 article per day
Once you have your keywords and landing page setup, it’s time to write your articles. I write and submit at least 1 article per day. (I usually write 3 or 4)
This makes sure that I am consistently putting out more articles that increase my article marketing traffic daily.
The trick to this strategy is to be consistent and be patient to see results. At first you will not notice a lot of traffic, but as your articles are published and rank in the search engines you will start to see traffic being generated.
While you are writing your article, make sure you utilise the resource box (Author Bio) to generate traffic. I usually keep this down to 2 sentences. The first tells them something relevant about me, and the second tells them where they can get more information.
Some people try this strategy and do not see instant sales, so they stop their article marketing strategy. This is a big mistake because article marketing will always be a big part of your traffic building strategy because people are always looking for great information. Just make sure you are providing good value to your readers by taking the time to write an original article that is relevant to their needs. Also make sure your Landing page is relevant.
Step 4: Optimise your article
Now that you have written your article, make sure you take the final step and optimise it so that you maximise your chances to rank well in the search engines.
Here is a simple overview to get you started with optimising your articles:
1. Make sure you keyword is in the article title
2. Make sure your keyword is in the summary
3. Aim for a keyword density of 1% and 2% in the article body. A general rule of thumb is to mention your keyword once per paragraph.
4. Make sure your resource box contains your keyword and try to hyperlink your chosen keyword.
Step 5: Submit your article
When it comes to article submission, there are two schools of thought. Some people will submit the same article to hundreds of article directories so that they get a spike in traffic.
Others will only submit their articles to the top article directories.
I prefer the second strategy because I want to also add value to the article directories that I submit my articles to. I only submit my articles to 3 of the top article directories and I make sure each directory gets an original article. This is because I can get the most benefit with this strategy as a lot of article directories do not get any traffic and don’t rank well with the search engines.
So, there you have it, my article marketing traffic strategy. Next time you write an article try it out for yourself and see your article marketing traffic increase.
